One of the biggest problems at the moment with SEO and online marketing is that too many people, both businesses and SEO service companies alike, are forgetting one fundamentally important point: getting ranked highly on Google, or any other search engine, is only a means to an end, and not an end in itself.

Not only that, but whilst companies work hard to optimise their websites, cramming keyword stuffed content into every spare corner of their pages, they seem oblivious to the fact that whilst this may fool some of the search engines into thinking the site is relevant, informative and good quality, those people armed with wallets may well be put off very quickly.

Any effective and successful SEO marketing strategy needs to combine search engine marketing and optimisation with optimising content and marketing for real people. Otherwise it’s like trying to sell a flashy looking car with a hamster peddling a wheel instead of an engine.
