From humble beginnings..

Our story begins in 2004 from a converted cellar in the heart of Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Girls Aloud were propping up the charts, Tony Blair was prime minister and England were knocked out of UEFA Euro 2004 by Portugal on penalties, again!

But it wasn’t all gloom!

After realising how desperately businesses needed to get found online in a cost effective way, our founder Lee knew he could help. Fresh from a SEO manager role at an established Cheltenham based agency, Lee took the plunge and Web Presence was born.

In its infancy, our agency’s primary purpose was to help businesses of all sizes to get found on the major search engines. We were a dedicated Search Marketing Agency, plying our trade in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay-Per Click (PPC) advertising to help businesses grow.

To a new model B2B digital agency..

We began life as a search marketing agency.

Our own growth was steady, and although search marketing remained a key component of the marketing mix, the digital landscape was changing at a breakneck pace. We knew we needed to do more for our clients, we knew we had more to offer.

We also knew we needed an office dog, and Banjo was welcomed into the fold.

With Banjo proving incapable of doing the job, Paul came on board in a director’s role to help evolve our services to support the multi-channel digital strategies our clients demanded.

Paul brought with him a progressive attitude, a friendly persona and a wealth of experience in website development and online advertising. He ticked all the boxes.
